Maintaining Client Relationships with Proper Communication

After deciding to buy SEO services, you and your provider need to work on maintaining a good working relationship with each other. Communication is a key aspect of any relationship, and I want to talk about how we communicate with our own clients and hopefully offer advice to anyone who wants to improve their client-agency relationships.

1. Share Information Openly

We always provide detailed information on our clients’ campaigns with our monthly reports, but we also need the same kind of openness from our clients. Providing information such as your KPIs, past SEO and online marketing efforts, previous problems and successes, and other details allow us to understand your business better and come up with effective, personalized solutions.

2. Strategize

Before we begin any of our work, we talk to our clients about the goals and plans for that month’s cycle. We map out the work that needs to be done, and provide clear explanations of why they need to be done and what the expected results are. This helps both parties set the right expectations and provides us with clear checklist to track our progress throughout the month.

At the end of each month, our project managers contact our clients to discuss the work report and go over the things that went well the past month, and strategize for the following month.

3. Communicate Regularly

Aside from calling our clients at the start and end of each monthly campaign cycle, our project managers make it a point to check in with our clients at least twice a month. These calls don’t need to take very long, but we do them to keep clients in the loop and make sure the campaign is on the right track.

4. Encourage Feedback

We love receiving feedback from our clients, and make sure to pay attention to every word. Our project managers regularly ask our clients what they think of our services and performance throughout the campaign. We encourage our clients to be honest with us and let us know if there’s anything we can do to serve them better.
