Good news for all website owners: Google added a new section to their Webmaster Tools. The Security Issues section, which was announced yesterday, makes it easier for websites to recover from hacking and other security issues by alerting you when Google detects an attack.
More Information About Security Issues
All alerts about possible malware and spam infection will appear in one section for easier referencing. This includes information that was displayed in the now-defunct Malware section and new additions like spam injection. It will also be easier for you to track and fix the affected pages on your website because Google will display sample pages on the Security Issues page.
Google Webmaster Tools shows all security alerts in one page.
The following information will be included:
- The type of malware / spam infection that your website has
- Sample URLs where you can find the infection
- The last date when the malware / spam infection was detected by Google
- Problem code snippets
- Recommended actions
Suspicious snippets are included in the information provided by the new section.
Faster Review by Google
Another feature of this new section that will be useful to you is the ability to request a review for all issues in one go. Having Google review your site once you have cleaned up all malware and spam is important, because Google warns users of possible malware attacks and discourages users to visit your site if they detect any suspicious activity related to spam. At the bottom of the Security Issues page is a checkbox that says “I have fixed these issues,” and below it is the “Request a Review” button.
